January memoirs of Cian Fattham – UPDATED!!

Sunday 24th January 2010, DUHC 3rd XI 2 vs 1 Pembroke 5ths (Santry)
The sun had awoken slightly earlier than me on that cool January morning and everything was aching from the exploits of the night before. I struggled to rise but lay in my bed awaiting my body to forgive me for last night’s escapades. Memories of [...]

Wicklow (6) V 4th XI (2) 13/3/10

This was a difficulty game to organize players for due to distance. Unfortunately for us the Ireland/Whales game would take its toll on us as well with our top scorer and goalie dropping out at the last minute.
This Wicklow team is the only team I would say clearly out and out beat us earlier in [...]

4th XI (1)- Fingal 4ths (2) 6/3/10 and 4th XI (1) v R.C.S.I (4) 7/3/10 – The first Surgeons cup.

This was game played with 4ths wiht no ringers in the side like bell, mike or adley. We played well, held it at nil all for the guts of fifty minutes and then I scored a goal. It was sweat for the all team, but then we switched off and let in two soft goals [...]

Navan 2 (Simon Clarke 2) Dublin University 9 (Tolly Humphreys 2, Craig Moore 2, Henry Butler, Chris Tyrell 3, Daire Coady)

Trinity struck nine times for the third time since the turn of the year and while it is probably too late to consider it a title charge with two games to go, second place is not inconceivable given a couple of fixtures the current top three must fight out amongst themselves. The students raced into [...]

3rd XI (7) – Monkstown (3)

Coming into the final few weeks of the season, consistent performances from the 3rds have placed us at the top of the table in Division 6, after eventually overtaking Monkstown. They have remained in close pursuit, however, just two points behind, and this top-of-the-table clash was always going to be a crucial game. A sunny [...]

Wednesday, February 24, 2010 Trin smash Suttonians for nine Men’s Division Two: Dublin University 9 (Daire Coady 3, Tolly Humphreys 2, Andrew Beverland 2, Chris Tyrell 2) Suttonians 1 (Ed Hipwell)

Trinity enjoyed a Santry homecoming to savour as they battered league leaders Suttonians for nine to open up the race for the division two crown yet further. The students showed no ill effects from the return to sand-based hockey after spending much of the season on the Grange Road water, racing into a 5-1 half-time [...]

3rd XI vs. Railway Union
Whilst my Monkstown report is bloody awesome and great, I’m beginning to get sick of seeing it every time I visit this site anticipation that somebody has posted an update, so here is a brief synopsis of a threesome of battles of Trojanic proportions. The high flying Mens 3rd XI were [...]
